19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hardcourt

A revitalized the Russian player claimed his first championship for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.

Medvedev, a former number one, has experienced a torrid year, winning just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the US Open.

His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in especial - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with former coach Cervara.

Presently collaborating with Johansson and his other coach, he has consistently progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive triumph over challenger Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's initial trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt from spring of that year.

Victory also signifies he has secured twenty-one titles at 21 different tournaments.

"It's the first time I have attended a event with my children together, so to win a championship is particularly special," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my child my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six finals, including in Halle previously this season.

His retrieving strategy and regular outbursts on the tennis court had prompted some to question if his skill to play at the top level was concluded.

Yet the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and play positively, reinforced by an improved serving game.

He came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the challenging Moutet, taking four of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.

Both players traded breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden tour victory, took control to create a decider.

Moutet saved four early-game opportunities in a tight deciding set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to secure the win.

Fittingly, he clinched the title with a rally at the net, with his opponent unable to handle a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
